Volunteers are invited to share their knowledge on the broad range of topics covered. An explosion at the Victaulic Plant in Lower Macungie resulted in serious injuries to multiple workers at the plant. Christopher Reid of Hof & Reid LLC , filed personal injury lawsuits on behalf of two such Victaulic blast victims, one of whom suffered very serious burn and physical injuries and both of whom suffered psychological injuries. The lawsuits involved allegations of negligence and products liability against the companies that designed, manufactured, installed, and serviced the foundry equipment at the Victaulic Plant. Settlements were reached with four of the six companies named in the lawsuits.
New Jersey governor Chris Christie appeared in Beach Haven, NJ (LBI), while the Hof family enjoyed their annual retreat to the shore. Phil Hof, a personal injury attorney of Hof & Reid LLC in Bethlehem, was interviewed by Channel 6 news regarding his opinion of the shore after the rebuilding that followed the destruction caused by Hurricane Sandy. The panel, which was comprised of well respected trial lawyers and judges, provided those in attendance with tools these very experienced litigators use in determining the value of their cases and ensuring that the value is recognized by the defense.
On Sunday, September 23, 2012, Jill Kelly McComsey, a Bethlehem personal injury attorney at Hof & Reid LLC, will participate in the Lehigh Valley American Heart Association Heart Walk being held at Northampton County Community College on Green Pond Road in Bethlehem. The American Heart Association is the largest voluntary health organization working to prevent, treat and defeat heart disease, stroke and other cardiovascular diseases. These diseases, the Nation's No.1 and No.4 killers, claim more than 813,804 American lives a year. On Sunday, June 24, 2012, Philip M. Hof, a Bethlehem personal injury attorney, participated in the Eighth Annual Philadelphia Insurance Triathlon as a member of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training (TNT). The mission of Team In Training is to train athletes to compete in endurance events while raising money to fund lifesaving cancer research. Philip M. Hof trained for and completed the distance triathlon race, consisting of a 1.5K swim, a 40K bike and a 10K run. Even more impressive, Philip M. Hof was the top fundraiser racing with the Eastern Pennsylvania Team in Training group, raising close to $9,000 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. His fundraising efforts led him to receive special recognition as a Team in Training "Rockstar."
Jill Kelly McComsey, Associate Attorney at the Bethlehem law firm of Hof & Reid LLC, helped organize a fund-raiser for North Penn Legal Services, which was generously hosted by Melt in the Saucon Valley Promenade Shops. The fund-raiser attracted professionals from Lehigh County, Northampton County and beyond and raised over $10,000.00 for North Penn Legal Services. North Penn Legal Services provides civil legal representation to low-income people and ensures equal access to justice for all. They are facing a funding crisis and need help now more than ever.
