Bus accidents a growing concern for PA parents

School districts across Pennsylvania take student safety very seriously. In recent years, many measures have been put in place to ensure that children have the best possible learning experience. Though many parents may feel as if their children are relatively safe at school, they may not consider the danger their children are in while traveling to and from school. Already this year, several bus accidents have caused injury and fright to students across the state, and the most recent has many families concerned.

Bus accidents can result in higher number of injuries

Pennsylvania residents can likely recall at least one time they have ridden a bus. Many children rely on buses to get them to and from school each day. Even for adults, a bus can be a handy way to travel in a large group or save commuters from having to worry about the expense of driving their personal vehicle. Though buses are considered to be a relatively safe method of transportation, bus accidents can result in high numbers of serious injuries.

Being at fault for bus accidents can carry lengthy prison terms

A new school year is beginning across the state of Pennsylvania, and students aren't the only ones who may have first-day jitters. Waiting for the school bus can be an anxious moment for parents as well. Though it is time to turn a new leaf and begin a new semester, parents may still have lingering fears about the potential for serious bus accidents

Bus accidents seem to be on the rise, latest causes injury

Many Pennsylvania residents rely on mass transportation to get from place to place. Part of the reason for this is that there are a multitude of people living in urban areas who have little use or space for a personal vehicle. Others may not have a driver's license and rely on trains, buses and other methods of public travel. Though convenient, riders are often at serious risk because bus accidents can be particularly devastating.

Bus accidents a danger to drivers and pedestrians alike

Pennsylvania residents likely never consider that they may be seriously injured by a bus in their own home. Unfortunately, due to the large size of the vehicle involved, and the number of people that may be on board at any given time, bus accidents can have especially devastating results. Often occurring at a moment's notice, it can be nearly impossible for people to get out of the way in time to avoid serious injury or death, and the passengers on a bus have no control over the situation.

The frightening reality of bus accidents

As the school year drew to a close, a group of high school seniors embarked on a class trip. Accompanied by three chaperones, the students boarded a charter bus in their small town, and began their journey to a big city. They began to make their way through Pennsylvania, drawing ever nearer to their destination. They certainly must not have expected the nightmare that was about to unfold. Though buses are a common way for a large group of people to travel together, bus accidents can be especially devastating because of the large number of lives at stake.

Pennsylvania bus accident sends 2 students to the hospital

Sending one's children to school via public school transportation is almost a think-less task. Packing up the backpacks, tying the shoes, zipping the coat and kissing them goodbye when dropping the kids off at the bus stop, daycare center or even at school is how many Pennsylvania parents spend their early mornings. Trusting the adults with the care of one's children can often be taken for granted until the unfortunate happens. An early morning bus accident has caused major concerns with regard to bus safety and driver training.

Pennsylvania strives to prevent school bus accidents

Due to redistricting in several Pennsylvania school districts, many children are now required to ride a bus.  Because of the increased numbers of buses and heavier traffic conditions, the risk of being involved in serious bus accidents are likely much higher than in decades past. In spite of the efforts to ensure safe transportation for all parties, not every accident can be prevented.

School bus accidents can result in serious injuries to children

School buses are designed to transport several dozen students in a relatively unsecured fashion. As a result, when these vehicles are involved in serious bus accidents, children could suffer serious injuries. One recent wreck in Pennsylvania resulted in several people requiring medical care, with one child suffering critical injuries.
