Detective investigating motorcycle accident.

Pennsylvania students have gone back to school, and that means school buses are back on the roads. Drivers should be prepared to watch for children in or near the street, and remain alert for frequent stops. Recently, a school bus was involved in a motorcycle accident, and the driver of the motorcycle suffered serious injuries.

The vehicle of a driver -- a former Marine -- who was not involved in the accident was equipped with a dash cam that recorded the entire incident. Though police have not yet stated which party was officially at fault, the video shows that the bus was turning around when it collided with the motorcycle as it came down a hill. Apparently, an electric truck was in the vicinity and may have made it difficult for the other drivers to see obstacles ahead.

The motorcycle driver suffered serious injuries, and the former Marine sprung into action. He grabbed a first aid kit from his vehicle and did his best to tend to the injured man until help arrived. The bus driver and the children on the bus were not hurt. The dash cam video was turned over to police, and a detective will review the footage to determine as part of the police investigation. It is not yet clear if the bus driver will receive a citation.

When a motorcycle accident occurs in Pennsylvania, a victim may want to consider taking legal action when the evidence suggests another party was at fault. A victim may have to handle medical bills, loss of wages due to inability to work, repairs to the motorcycle and other financial burdens that often follow an accident. In such cases, an attorney may be able to help the victim seek justice in a court of law, and pursue recovery of documented monetary damages.
