Teen drivers and motorcycle accidents

Young or inexperienced drivers have a higher chance of being involved in an accident than more experienced drivers. Though being aware of the laws of the road and being educated about safe driving practices can go a long way to help a new Pennsylvania driver, there is an increased risk of a crash with a teen behind the wheel. Though sometimes, a little fender-bender can be a frightening but relatively harmless learning experience, other more serious crashes, like motorcycle accidents, can change or end lives forever.

Recently, an 18-year-old female was driving a pickup truck close to a local high school. For some reason, she lost control of the vehicle and attempted to correct her steering after running off the road. Unfortunately, as she tried to correct and re-enter the roadway, she struck two men on motorcycles.

The teen driver suffered minor injuries, but both men on the motorcycles fared far worse. Both suffered serious injury and were unfortunately pronounced dead at the scene. Though the teen driver was attempting to avoid a serious crash, she wound up causing an accident that claimed two innocent lives. An investigation into the accident continues, but authorities have identified the victims, and both were 54-year-old Pennsylvania residents.

When motorcycle accidents are caused by the careless or negligent actions of another driver, surviving family members may feel overcome by grief, shock and anger. In many cases, medical bills, burial costs and other expenses related to the crash may fall upon the victim's estate. Pennsylvania families may want to consider consulting an experienced attorney, who can help representatives of a victim's estate collect any damages or compensation to which the estate may be entitled, and bring the driver responsible for the loss of life to justice in a court of law.
