Car accident claims the life of a Pennsylvania woman

Most Pennsylvania drivers understand the importance of safety and diligence while on the road. Even with all the gadgets and safety features that are now standard on most vehicles, car accidents still occur. Whether the driver responsible for a car accident is distracted or under the influence of alcohol or ability-impairing narcotics, the end result can leave families in a financial tight spot or reeling from the loss of a loved one.

A 59-year-old woman was killed when the minivan she was driving was struck head-on. The driver of the other vehicle was heading north and crossed middle of center and struck the southbound minivan. Authorities pronounced the driver dead at the scene.

The driver of the offending vehicle was taken by ambulance to a local hospital. She was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. It is unclear at this time why the vehicle crossed the center line. Authorities are still investigating and will consult with the district attorney to determine if charges will be filed.

When a car accident occurs, injury and devastating emotional and financial effects can scar those involved for life. When an injury does occur, some may consider settling with an insurance company. This settlement may not provide enough to cover all the medical and other costs associated with the accident. When a driver succumbs to injuries, final costs are typically substantial in and of themselves. Seeking the counsel of a Pennsylvania attorney with experience in civil claims arising from car accidents can help the victims and their families determine the extent of all losses and damages and take appropriate action to pursue recovery of financial losses sustained.
