Person killed in Pennsylvania car accident involving semi-truck

No matter who one is or what he or she has accomplished in life, tragedy can strike without warning. One of the most unpredictable events that can turn lives upside down is a fatal car accident. Recently, a Pennsylvania family lost a loved one in a multi-vehicle crash.

Police have not released many details concerning the accident or what may lave lead to it as they are still conducting their investigation. The wreck apparently involved nine vehicles, one of which was a semi-truck that was carrying a load of frozen turkey. According to one witness, the driver of a car steered into the travel lane directly in front of the tractor-trailer.

The witness indicated that the commercial vehicle driver was unable to avoid colliding with another vehicle. The big rig rear-ended the car and then overturned. The truck then burst into flames. Pennsylvania officials stated that one person was killed and two others required transportation to local medical facilities. Several vehicles sustained damage due to the fire.

Officials closed Route 202 for several hours as they worked to determine what led to the car accident, and no information was released concerning the deceased victim or the severity of the injuries that others may have suffered. Families who find themselves in these tragic situations often have more than the physical loss of their loved one to cope with. They may also have sustained significant monetary damages as well from medical expenses and other associated losses due to lost income. If a crash is believed to have been the fault of another party's negligence, then the surviving family may choose to pursue a wrongful death claim in civil court. Injured parties may also seek recompense for their financial damages through a personal injury lawsuit.
