An incident occurred that apparently caused a complete shut down of southbound lanes on a Pennsylvania highway. The car accident resulted in injuries to two people. The crash took place at approximately 4 p.m. on a recent Sunday.

Police stated that there were two vehicles involved in the collision. Drivers were alerted and told to expect delays after the two cars crashed and lanes became blocked by the debris. About an hour after the crash, officials were able to open one lane so that traffic could begin moving again.

In the meantime, two people who had been involved in the collision suffered injuries that required medical attention. One was a 31-year-old man, the other a 64-year-old woman. Both were transported to a nearby hospital, and their injuries were listed as non-life threatening. No further information has yet been made available as to what may have caused the two-car collision.

In situations where a Pennsylvania car accident is deemed to have been caused by driver negligence, a collision sometimes leads to litigation when a surviving victim files a personal injury claim in a civil court. Even non-life threatening injuries that require medical treatment can bring unexpected financial debt to an injured party. The law protects that person by allowing  a monetary judgment to be sought against any and all persons believed responsible for a crash.
