A car that crashed and exploded into flames on an expressway the night of June 30 has left three people dead, according to local sources. The car accident is still under investigation by Pennsylvania authorities, who responded to the crash around 2:30 a.m. on the morning in question. So far, no one has been charged with an infraction related to this case.

Police have said that they have yet to determine what caused the vehicle to flip on its side and burst into flames, which was the way they found the car upon responding to the crash. It does not appear that any other driver on the Schuylkill Expressway was involved in the accident. One man apparently survived the crash because he was thrown clear by the impact. The other three people apparently burned to death in the car.

It is not clear at this time whether the man who survived is the driver of the vehicle. Police are also considering wet weather conditions as a possible factor in the crash, but this has yet to be corroborated. As of this report, their investigation is ongoing.

The outcome of this case will depend largely on whether the driver survived the crash. If the surviving man is indeed the driver of the car involved in the car accident, police may end up charging him with a crime, if they determine the accident was caused by negligence or recklessness. Even if the driver died, however, Pennsylvania law dictates that survivors and the families of the deceased are entitled to file wrongful death and personal injury suits against either a surviving driver or the estate of a deceased one.
